Katherine earned her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography with a minor in Business Management from UC Irvine in June 2020.

As an emerging choreographer, she has presented multiple works at UC Irvine, and has recently produced her first work with Nabla Virtual Performance Festival. Her professional career was inspired by her time as a member in the Etude Ensemble under Artistic Director, Donald McKayle. Her choreographic work is rooted in creating movement with intention.

Growing up in San Jose, she started dancing at a young age in a wide range of styles that include ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, tap and hip hop. She trained at Yoko’s Dance and Performing Arts Academy under the instruction of Yoko Young, Erin LaMoyne, Megan Ellis and Lindsey Parker.

During her time at UC Irvine, Katherine had the opportunity to work closely with well-known choreographers including Loretta Livingston, Lar Lubovitch, and S. Ama Wray. In 2018, she toured with choreographer, Lisa Naugle and the DTM2 Ensemble performing at various locations in Rome, Italy.

She is a certified Pilates instructor under the tutelage of Diane Diefenderfer. She completed the teacher training program, inspired by Ron Fletcher’s teachings, in the summer of 2020.

Katherine is currently teaching dance and Pilates at Yoko’s Dance and Performing Arts Academy in Fremont, CA. Additionally, she performs and competes with Full Potential Dance Company, a choreography adult dance company.
